Whether you are building a barn or a house, the use of dormers will add a distinctive look to any structure. Sometimes, roof dormers are used just for looks, but in most cases they are used to create more space and to bring more day light into the attic. There are many different styles of dormers available, but mostly used styles are Gabled Dormer and a Shed Dormer.
Shown below is the construction of Gabled & Shed Dormers. Each dormer is functional and is built to add extra light and attic space. As seen from the pictures, the shed dormer adds significantly more space compared to regular dormers. Use of dormers is a good idea when attic space is to be converted into an apartment or living quarters.
